GULABI SAPERA: THE DANCE OF THE SNAKE
Director : Sergio G.Mondelo

In Hindi Gulabi means: rose petal . . . . It is the name given to the most famous of the Rajasthani dancers who is the heroine of the Kalbeliyas caste, nomad snake charmers who live in the Thar desert in Northeast India, between Jaipur and the border with Pakistan.
This film relates the exceptional destiny of Gulabi Sapera, who was buried alive at birth, then saved by her aunt, and whose persistence, passion for dance, and inner voice drove her to brave taboos, such as that which prevents women from dancing in public.
A choreographic and musical journey in the company of the guitarist Titi Robin who has been accompanying her for 10 years in an artistic collaboration that harmoniously blends gipsy sounds.
