Veronique Vial, a French photographer, lives in Los Angeles. She takes photos as an animal would, relying on instinct. ”She doesn’t compose her photos, she steals them”, like those of the Hollywood stars who she loves to surprise as they wake up.
The filmmaker accompanies her as she takes these snapshots and meets these original individuals who wonder about the meaning of their lives.
The film conveys the different perceptions of the photographer and the film-maker of this mythical California that shows us to what lengths Americans are prepared to go in their quest for well-being.
