Many volunteers signed on to take part in an extraordinary voyage and human adventure on board La Boudeuse, the three-masted schooner of explorer Patrice Franceschi, for three years around the world to meet the water peoples. As the ship, minus its masts, travels up the Seine from Le Havre to Paris, some of the crew members talk about their experiences during the voyage, about its adventurous and philosophic aspects, and about the difficulty of living in close quarters. Through reading extracts from their logbook illustrated with film excerpts of the different expeditions led by La Boudeuse, each of the crew members gives a personal account of this tough and at the same time fascinating adventure, a school of life.
